He snagged the Guinness World Record and raised more than $26,000 for a cause close to him!
This month, George Hood regained the title of Guinness World Record holder after riding a stationary bike for 222 hours!
We ran a story about his ride when he started because it was inspiring to hear why this ride was so important to him. He was raising money for the family of a local soldier who died while serving in Afghanistan. Organizers say he surpassed their fundraising goal and helped bring in more than $26,000 for Gunnar Hotchkin's family!
Here's what George recently said on his blog about raising money for the Gunnar Hotchkin Memorial Fund:
I got to know many of the Hotchkin family during the week and was inspired by the fond memories that they’d share with me about Gunnar. He was a tremendous athlete and a caring guy who wanted nothing but the best for his family. Raising money on behalf of Gunnar was the honorable thing to do and to do so in conjunction with the attainment of a Guinness World Record will make this event one that I will remember forever.
If you didn't get a chance to see the original story on George's ride, please take a look! He's a very inspiring guy!!
