As INSPIREme readers, you guys read stories about inspiring people and families everyday. I'm sure you know people in your own communities who are deserving of a new home and a fresh start, so tell me about them!
Here's what they're looking for:
-people with amazing strength and character who never give up
-people who have made a big difference in other people's lives
-people who inspire others quietly and serve their communities on a daily basis
-people whose homes desperately need to be rebuilt, but don't have the time or resources to make repairs on their own
Nominate a family in the comments section below and be sure to write your name and email address! Make sure you share their story and why they're deserving of an extreme home makeover. I'll contact the people with the best entries and forward them on to ABC for consideration!!!
This is your chance, Chicago... let's show ABC how many great people we've got in our city and surrounding suburbs!

How about a disabled person looking for accessible housing in Chicago..?? I have been looking for the past two years sense my recovery in late 2008. Because of the real estate crash people are looking for homes and there is not much to choose from epically for the disabled. It has been a complete nightmare to continue moving forward with my success when something as simple as finding a new home is taken for granted. :( Much Respect. George Flores
I believe my aunt Barb is so deserving of a home makeover. She is a woman who has had so much weight put onto her shoulders, but still carries others through their struggles. There is so much I want to get across about this amazing woman and human being but there will never be enough words to describe how worthy she is of this makeover. She has been given so many obstacles in her life that I wish for once something positive and refreshing can happen for her.
I want to start off by telling you a little about her background. Barb's youngest son, Anthony, was born with cerebral palsy and has never left his wheelchair, been able to talk, clean or feed himself. What he can do is smile. I have never seen a boy light up so much when he hears his Mother's voice. Barb had the option of putting him into a home to get cared for, but couldn't imagine not seeing him smile everyday. He is 21 years old right now and Barb has to lift him everyday by herself from his wheelchair to his bed or floor. She had to turn the dining area of her kitchen into his room. There are no walls separating the kitchen from a bed and drawers that took over her already small kitchen. My aunt Barb's house is quite small and while her kitchen is Anthony's room the family room has been turned into her husbands who was just diagnosed with cancer. It became too difficult for her husband to get up and down the stairs and this was their only option.
I couldn't wish and plead enough for her to just have her home be brightened up or more accessible to get Anthony around in his wheelchair, and for her husband and son to have a real bedroom.I know other people have been in similar or worse situations, but she has never asked for anyone's help but instead has been their for everyone else. Before her husband got cancer she would watch my grandparents and take care of their home during the day. My aunt was extremely close to my grandma who just passed away at the age of 91 on April 29. Since her death my aunt has been more depressed and today was put into the emergency room because of problems with her pacemaker. This is extremely hard with her husband and son at home. All I want is to give her good news for once in her life and this makeover would not only mean so much to her and my entire family but would make a huge difference in her life.
I never grew up with a Mom and my aunt Barb feels just as close to me as a Mother would. Even though she doesn't have a lot she is always willing to give what she has and even more. I look up to her for her strength, advice and courage. She is the nicest most outgoing person I know and she is always positive no matter what. If you were to even talk to her on the phone she could make you smile. Please consider nominating my aunt Barb.
Thank you so much,
Heather
